My name is Szabolcs János Kádár, and I am a musical theatre actor and singer.
I completed my training at the Pesti Broadway Studio, the training studio of the Budapest Operetta Theatre. After graduating, I was entrusted with numerous leading and character roles in the theatre's musical and operetta productions.
Audiences have seen me, among others, as Count Paris in the world-famous musical Romeo and Juliet, as Pixi in Magnás Miska, as Frédi in Lili Baroness, as Prince Imre in the rock opera Be with Me, Lord!, and as Prince Bakszén in the rock operetta Józsiás, the Devil-Slayer.
I have also performed at several theatres outside Budapest. I played Tony, the "Romeo of Manhattan", in the successful production of West Side Story at the National Theatre of Szeged, and János Török in the musical Be Faithful Unto Death at the Csokonai Theatre in Debrecen.
I am currently studying classical singing at the Béla Bartók Faculty of Arts of the University of Szeged. At the Csokonai Theatre in Debrecen I play János Boka in the audience favourite The Paul Street Boys, as well as Count Boni Kaucsiánó in The Csárdás Princess. I also had the opportunity to take on my first major bon vivant role in Sissi, the Hungarian Queen, based on Jenő Huszka's operetta Erzsébet.
In September 2021 I appeared on stage as Nick Piazza in the musical Fame. Since December 2022 I have also been playing Count László Illésházy in Lili Baroness at the Petőfi Theatre in Veszprém. One of the greatest challenges of my career so far has been portraying Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the musical Mozart!.
Alongside my theatre work, I also pursue a career as a solo singer. In 2010 I took part in the first Hungarian season of The X Factor and reached the Top 24. A few years later I released my first single, Behind the Scenes (Színfalak mögött).
Together with friends I also founded the vocal group Super Troupers. At first we mainly performed songs by ABBA, but today we have a varied repertoire and appear with many different programmes.
